🎓 Basic drone pilot course
The basic drone pilot course is for anyone who wants to step into professional drone flying. Previous experience is welcome but not required. This two day programme combines theory, practice and exam preparation for the EASA open category (A1, A2, A3) and standard scenarios (STS). It is everything you need to become a certified drone pilot.
📍 How the course is structured:
1. Theory (day one): you learn the rules of flying, airspace and safety in drone operations. You also learn the basics of technical checks on the aircraft.
2. Practice (day two): on a dedicated drone training ground you go through the basic manoeuvres and flying exercises. You prepare for real conditions on a range of drones. They run from the DJI Mini to the DJI Mavic and FPV drones such as the DJI Avata 2 and DJI Neo.
3. Exam preparation: the course covers every topic of the A1/A3, A2 and STS theory exams. You take the exam online or with the aviation authority in your country, and we guide you through the registration.
📍 The course is held in our classroom in New Belgrade and on the training ground nearby. All sessions are in English.
📅 Dates: Thursday and Friday or Saturday and Sunday, agreed with the group.

You receive our certificate of completion. The EASA certificates A1/A3, A2 and STS are issued after you pass the exam with the aviation authority or a recognised entity in your country. The course prepares you fully for those exams and our instructors help you with the registration.

Yes. All theory and practical sessions are held in English. Trainees from the region and the EU attend regularly.
The course prepares you for all three. A1/A3 is an online theory exam. A2 adds a theory exam and practical self training. STS-01 and STS-02 need a theory exam and practical training with a recognised entity. We guide you to the right exam through our partner organisations in the EU.
Belgrade has direct flights from most European cities. Nikola Tesla Airport is 20 minutes from New Belgrade. We recommend accommodation close to the classroom and help you arrange it.
The drone certificate exams: what they look like and how the basic course prepares you
The A1/A3 and A2 certificates are obtained by passing a theory exam, and STS adds practical training. The exams cover flight rules, airspace, meteorology, safety and drone technology. The rules do not require a course for the open category. Without preparation, however, most candidates fail on the details of the regulations. Without practice you have not a single hour of flying in your hands.
The basic drone pilot course at the Lomingo training centre lasts two days. Day one is theory organised exactly by exam topic. Day two is practice on the training ground with an instructor.
